Depression

What is Depression?

Depression (Major Depressive Disorder) is more than just feeling "sad" or "down" for a few days. It is a serious, persistent mood disorder that causes a feeling of intense sadness and a loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed. It affects how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as eating, sleeping, or working.

Symptoms can include persistent low mood, changes in appetite or sleep, loss of energy, feelings of worthlessness or guilt, difficulty concentrating, and, in severe cases, thoughts of self-harm or suicide.
